To move on, first find a replacement

In my career, I've fired myself over 7 times; as someone who helps businesses get off the ground, or turned around, I've found my strengths lie in the project mode rather than the manager mode. I can do both, but enjoy the former much more than the latter.

I fired myself again on the latest project, which lasted more months than I anticipated, primarily due to the success of the project (blowing out all the metrics) and the fact that the point of contact for the project was called up for military duty in Iraq (and asked me to stay on while he was gone).

My replacement, I'm happy to note, has some of the skills I lack, as well as inroads into parts of the community that I've wanted the project to reach into, but was unable to effect due to time and resource constraints.

Please welcome Aundrea Wilcox to the Kingsport Chamber and, more specifically, to the KOSBE project: Kingsport Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship. She'll do a bang-up job.

More details here.
